Janis Joplin, the 60’s music icon stood for freedom and rock and roll. Joplin said,  "she was perpetually the odd one out, never fitting in or feeling like she belonged."This pain fueled her creativity, inspiring her to sell out concerts, sharing her world through her music.  She died of a drug overdose at age 27.

No pain no gain, that’s the saying right? Our pain can lead us to make changes in ourselves and our situations. We can make beautiful collages, art pieces or expressions out of every experience.  Expressions of who we are can be found everywhere, in the way we love others and the way we come together after a disaster, horrific unimaginable event, death or terror.  What we look at is not important, it is what we see that is important.  Next time you have the chance, listen a little longer, feel a bit deeper and you might be surprised at what you learn about someone or something.

Most people would like each other if they had the chance to hear the other person’s life story.  Viewing people that come into our lives as teachers can help us look at everyday average situations or great events as something special we can learn from.  Letting go of expectations and our personal agendas on how things “should be” allows every experience the authenticity it deserves. Showing up and seeing what’s next can be fun and exhilarating, you might find out that life has a better plan then you could have ever imagined.  All you have to do is let go and find out.
