The Power in Forgiveness

Just how important is forgiveness? Will we be ok if we do not forgive, what if we forgive most things and not the things we deem unforgivable? We tell ourselves we forgive but what are we missing out on if we do not. Who are we hurting the most by not forgiving?

According to Jim Sanders, “forgiveness allows us to let go of the past so we may fully accept and be present in the moment, which is the space where the heart and God reside.”  Sanders is an Ayahuasquero from Winnipeg, who went to Peru to visit Mayantuyacu in 2005. In search of finding justice not interested in organized religion or spirituality.  He had recently filmed a documentary on coca and Bolivia in 2003, called The Real Thing: Coca, Democracy and Rebellion in Bolivia.  Sanders was an activist, wanting to save the world. His intention was always to help people, not knowing exactly which road would lead him there.

Sanders believes that we all have a purpose and we need to face our fears to uncover what that purpose is.  What is revealed to us is a deeper connection with everything and everyone.  Sanders explains, “God is found in the plant Ayahuasca, which is a vine that grows in the Amazon of South America. “The plant teaches us what we need to know to grow as a person.” It has shown Sanders a clearer more compassionate path each time he drinks the vine.

Sanders knows that everything is God and that we must forgive and face our fears before we will move forward in our lives and on this journey. After 11 years he no longer has much fear, except the fear of his loved ones having fear.

Currently, Sanders is helping Mayantuyacu Centre for the Study of Medicinal Plants put in a septic system and generator.  This is the center in Peru where 11 years ago he met Maestro Flores. Who has guided him in his own healing practice.  He visits the center at least 4 times a year.  Sanders and Andre Clement filmed a documentary on Mayantuyacu which was shown at the Museum of Human Rights, http://tonkiri.ca/.

Sanders has recently opened Tonkiri Integrative Wellness & Learning Centre.   His plan is to continue sharing and helping people. The center is located one hour from Winnipeg in South Eastern Manitoba on the Whitemouth River.  Anyone interested in finding out more please see contact information below.
